Do Not Disturb: Where's the privacy in the bedroom?

My blog is about sex, all things pertaining to sex.
However, some issues dealing with sex are just more important to discuss than the purpose of a flavored condom...

Sex today is different than it was in the past.

Technology has opened the doors for many things. Forums, chats and dating sites offer new insight to the world of sex. People can meet potential partners, others can seek advice. The Internet can be a tool to someone's problems.

Tyler Clementi went online seeking advice to anyone who would listen.

Technology gives people the chance to spread information to the masses, quick and easy, such as Facebook: to inform people of what their plans are for the evening.

Tyler Clementi's last status update on his Facebook page read, "Jumping off the gw bridge sorry."

Technology can also be a tool to destroy lives.

On September 22, Tyler Clementi's life was cut short in what people are calling a sex-tape suicide.

Clementi's private, intimate moments with another male were streamed on the Internet for anyone with a computer to see.

The person who made this possible: his roommate Dharun Ravi.

College is supposed to be a chance for new experiences, to escape the immaturity and drama and high school, and to leave your invasive parents for an escape.. No more barging into your room, because "we own this house" and "as long as we pay the bills"... You're supposed to respect and trust the person you live with in a dorm room.

However, Tyler Clementi's right to privacy was taken away, and in that, his promising future was gone.

So the question stands, when did intimate relationships become entertainment to people besides the two involved?
